ALONG with several thousand fellow hurling supporters, I travelled to Thurles on Saturday evening for the eagerly awaited National Hurling League opener between Kilkenny and Tipperary.
As per usual at Semple Stadium, it was cash at the gate with no ticket, ie proof of purchase.
We took our seats and waited. Then an announcement was made that the match was cancelled due to the snow.
