No change

• David Quinn has certainly hit the nail on the head when he writes that we do not need to change the Constitution (Irish Independent, July 27).

After all, what possible grounds could there be to change a constitution that for 70 years colluded in an insidious abuse of human rights in all walks of life; and continues to collude with the maintenance of a system, despite the rottenness and corruption of our masters, be they church, state or bank.

Our constitutional system procrastinates, and avoids any confrontation with those responsible, so as to allow time to pass and minds to cloud, for people to forget that nothing in the system will change for the good of the people.
