No booing for Una and Ben

Madam -- I am writing in response to last week's article by Andrea Smith on the wedding of Una Healy and Ben Foden that took place in Bansha, Co Tipperary, the previous day.

I was very surprised at the negative tone of that article and surprised to be quoted out of context in it. True, it was disappointing that nobody could get a glimpse of the couple as they came out of the church or get a picture of them standing outside it, but for the writer to say that people booed and went away deflated was nonsense.

I stood outside the church for over two hours and heard no booing. On the contrary, the crowd was very good-humoured and happy and there was a great atmosphere.
