•In reply to Martin O'Neill's outlook on understanding the Germans and the path they have taken in the past, I think he should remember that it has been Berlin, as capital of Prussia, the German Empire and The Third Reich, that has always acted as such in trying to dominate Europe.
Since the re-unification of Germany, bad habits have crept back in. The tactics have changed, but the main aim has been achieved, ie: the complete and absolute control of Europe -- except in this case not a shot was fired in anger.
This may not be the ambition of the average German, but it has been done in their name. Please, Martin, open your eyes to what really is a fait accompli.
