More security for parish priests

Madam – Last week in the Sunday Independent it was reported a parish priest was tied up and robbed at his home in Co Galway.

It was the second time in a fortnight that his house has been targeted. The question has to be asked. Where was the security? CCTV cameras should be at the front and back doors. An alarm button inside the house that would call the gardai and neighbours.

It's time parish priests all over the country are looked after and their houses secured. I bet the bishops have good security. It's time to look after the foot soldiers. They have to rely on more than the power of prayer.
