McDowell lauded bankrupt policies

Madam – Michael McDowell may be right or he may be wrong when he says that there is 'a gap in the market' for 'the formation of a new political party'.

The one thing that is sure is that he should not be part of it.

He was a minister in government during the Celtic Tiger period when decisions were made which contributed to the bankrupting of this country.

He was prominent among the many influential commentators of that period who not alone did not warn the rest of us that the decisions being made at the highest level were in danger of bankrupting the country but defended those decisions.

There are far too many commentators who, like Mr McDowell, lauded the policies that bankrupted the country but are now all over the media complaining about the consequences.
