Recently, near the village of Roundwood, I was involved in a serious single vehicle accident.
I would like to extend my thanks to the people who assisted me. Leah Loughlin, who had been driving behind me and who immediately phoned the emergency services and waited to make sure that I was not injured or about to go into shock.
The Cunninghams, who invited me into their house and gave me tea, comfort and reassurance and where I gave my statement to the gardai.
To the paramedics from Shankill who checked me over. To the men who cleared the accident scene.
Finally, my thanks to the gardai from Roundwood who gave me a much needed lift to Glendalough.
It is a salutary reminder of the inherent goodness of people.
