Lost for words

May I take this opportunity to let the Taoiseach Enda Kenny, Tanaiste Eamon Gilmore and the Health Minister James Reilly know that words are not the only form of communication available to them at this present moment.

We also have a very good system of Morse code which was used effectively in times of war and which kept state secrets safe. There is also a very old custom used by the American Indians -- smoke signals.

The Vatican uses this system to announce the election of a new Pope. Mr Gilmore might take this on board. Oh, I forgot, he downgraded diplomatic relations with the Holy See.
