Letters to the editor

According to our national debt clock, our gross debt stands at a staggering €204bn.

The figure is almost double our GDP and one has to wonder will it ever come down? It just takes one minute for national debt to rise by €1,000.

For a nation of 5 million people, the sum adds up to €40,800 per person to be forked out in revenue to clear it.
