Let’s take pressure off our Leaving pupils
WITH the Leaving Certificate results due in mid-August, the secondary school education system will be brought sharply into focus.
The current system has many flaws, from the method of subject choice to the exam format itself. A programme of continuous assessment would be the most viable of changes.
A programme like this would have no cost implications, yet it would rejuvenate the educational system and enhance the level of college applicants.
