Let's get country back to work
Ireland is becoming a divided nation. We have a Government that is doing its best to divide it into three parts, the private sector, the public sector and social welfare recipients.
This is deflecting the blame away from the Government and onto each individual sector.
We should all refocus our efforts and realise the main reason we are where we are today is because this Government has not provided the nation with good financial governance.
The recent Budget is a step in the right direction but does not go far enough to help create employment or encourage anyone off social welfare and find full-time employment.
It is only possible to reduce the cost of employing staff if the costs of running the country are reduced.
I suggest every TD and minister takes a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves: "Could I live on 25pc less income?"
The same question could be asked of every high-earning employee in the country.
I would suggest the answer would be a resounding 'yes' if they were truthful.
It is time employers were given some help to reduce their running costs so as to employ more staff and get this country back to work.
