Experts from abroad, mainly outside Europe, have recommended that the new children's hospital be built at the Mater site at a cost of around €650m.
The IMF/ECB experts are here to check our finances. Will they agree with this project starting in the current climate and would this €650m not be better spent in hospitals nationwide that are in serious financial trouble?
And the children's hospitals we already have could do with some of this funding. They only need an injection of funds to operate to the same standards that any new hospital would.
