Leaders must rise to tough challenge
I am old now -- in my 80th year. Old people are no longer seen to have much wisdom or value. In this era of technological communications, we are seldom offered an alternative way to communicate -- as though 'snail mail' indicates 'snail brain'.
I still have a vote. Many of us can discern that our Government is moving towards selling our fatherland for "a mess of pottage". Even though our Irish spiritual character is dehabilitated and we no longer have discernable spiritual leadership, there are other challenging and courageous routes to be taken to achieve the reforms we need.
Those in positions of authority need to stand with courage and humility before we, as a nation, are as economically lost as many of us feel ourselves to be spiritually neglected.
