Laws are for all to obey
Sir -- 'Anglo boss sounds out gardai from US bolthole', (Sunday Independent, Mar. 28, 2010), makes interesting reading. Does this 'sounding out' represent a new departure in law enforcement wherein those whom the gardai may wish to interview can decide the time and place?
Given the plague of low standards in high places I believe it is incumbent upon the courts and the gardai, now more than ever, to reassure the ordinary citizens of this country that the law of the land is applied equally to all and without fear or favour.
