Launching a musical missile
Madam -- Like a hastily deployed Hamas rocket, Raymond Deane (Sunday Independent, March 25, 2012) was quick off the mark to criticise Nicky Larkin's piece of the previous Sunday.
He even suggests that "association with the Palestinian cause can damage an artist's career, particularly in the United States, and can lead to defamation and threats of ostracism. As a classical composer and a Palestinian rights activist I have had a decade's experience of this".
Has it ever occurred to him that the problem might not be his politics but his music?
