Journalists wary of bullying

Madam – "As journalists amass more power and influence, they seem to be increasingly reluctant to use it," said Eilis O'Hanlon (Sunday Independent, March 24, 2013).

Might I suggest that this is because people in even more influential positions can make things difficult for them going forward in their careers. This is similar to the workplace bullying which is rampant in our large, loosely managed organisations where whistleblowing and challenges to corrupt practices are more likely to see the whistleblower punished for showing up the poor structures operating within the organisation.
