The issue of the under-representation of women is receiving some attention following the recent Cabinet reshuffle.

In her article of June 21, Catherine O'Mahony is critical of what she describes as "the gender diversity getting worse".

The actual situation is as follows: 22pc of TDs, 21pc of ministers, and 22pc of the main Government party are women.
