It's all Greek to Merkel
Madam -- Angela Merkel described herself as having lived for over 30 years in a state where there was no freedom of speech. She was referring to the protests against her appearance in Greece recently, where she came into her role as queen of Europe.
The condescension dripped from her lips during a speech when she mealy-mouthed her way through what was in effect a mocking of those who took to the streets. It was as if it was in her gift to dispense such concessions.
Where was the freedom of speech when, in living memory, the noble people of Greece were slaughtered by Germany on those same streets? Ms Merkel's memory of despotism stops at the Berlin Wall.
