IMF cash would be cheaper for us

Referring to your report about Irish bond prices rising 6.5pc (Irish Independent, September 22), this was not the case.

The yield or interest rate on the bond rose to 6.5pc. There is an inverse relationship between the interest rate on a bond and its price, as yields rise the price of the bond falls.

Furthermore, we should all be aware of the little tricks the bond market plays on us.
