IT is interesting to read IBEC's reaction to bin men in Co Cork receiving compensation for loss of overtime (Irish Independent, October 28). "The days of inflated compensation payments are over and cannot be afforded either by the private or public sector," IBEC director of industrial relations Brendan McGinty told the Irish Independent.
Although I do not agree with the monies being paid, if they are part of a Labour Court ruling, then so be it
What I do have an objection to is IBEC's utter silence when persons in Dail Eireann claim attendance monies for a time when they were not present in Dail Eireann.
Would it be too much for IBEC to be expected to take an even-handed position with everyone in society?
