Ian O'Doherty is just unelectable
I agree with Kevin Muldoon (Letters, September 16). I know Ian O'Doherty likes nothing more than letting us know his petty hatreds. That's what he gets paid for. But I have a suggestion for Ian. Form your own political party (mission statement -- "the State does not have the right to tell any of us when we can or cannot have a drink"), run for election, get into government and then change the law.
I seem to remember a similar utterance during his 'Late Late Show' appearance regarding cocaine -- along the lines of nobody can tell him what to put into his body.
I know there are lots of people who feel this way about a number of issues, but there is just one problem with the getting elected part. Most people who chant this "nobody tells me what to do" mantra are aged between 13 and 17 and are not entitled to vote.
