I scream, ice cream

I was born on a farm, on a small bog road called Cabra, in the townland of Rathlee in County Sligo. Back in 1957, a car was a very rare sight on the road, as no one on our road owned one, so you can imagine the excitement when not one, but two cars pulled up outside our house.

In this picture, I was three years old and I remember my uncle Paddy picking me up and telling me that I was going to be brought for a spin into Enniscrone for ice cream. I remember starting to cry when being put into the car, so I had to be taken out again.
