HSE carers are simply doing their best
I am writing in response to articles printed in your paper on May 18 in relation to the tragic and untimely death of the young Daniel McAnaspie.
It is true that fate dealt cruel blows to him; it is further true that Daniel was a vulnerable young man. But what is untrue is to say the HSE has not learned lessons from this and other tragic deaths. It is also untrue to state that this young person was let down by those looking after him.
I know for definite that those looking after all the young vulnerable people in the care of the HSE care a lot about these young people. They treat them with respect and offer them the support that their families could not offer them for whatever reason.
