Hopping a ball
• In response to Ronan Farrell's letter (Letters, June 4), I have to pick him up on a few points.
Pat Spillane ticks all the boxes for a job in punditry. He speaks his mind, is very qualified in the subject matter and, more importantly, does not change his mind or stop being true to his attack- minded philosophy.
All GAA people recognise Mr Spillane's achievements, but it seems Mr Farrell's opinion about Mr Spillane's blinkered vision was fuelled by watching his beloved Longford in a wet, windswept and almost empty Croke Park through blue- and gold-tinted glasses.
