As a very patriotic Irish woman I wasn't sure how I felt about the queen's visit but after hearing Christy Cooney's speech in Croke Park, I don't think I've ever been as proud to be Irish.
The hair literally stood on the back of my neck and I must admit a few tears were shed.
I understand how people who have lost loved ones through the Troubles may not be happy about the visit but I really despair when I see young people of this generation on the streets protesting.
This is a historic occasion where Ireland has shown just how forward thinking we are. It is the present generation who can make a difference and move forward instead of always looking back.
