Good to revel in EU support this time
Sir - Jody Corcoran states (Sunday Independent, December 10) that: "Ireland was used by the European Union, though, to flush out the UK position somewhat, which has been exposed to be as threadbare as most experts have always felt it to be."
The EU also used Ireland's difficulties with a hard border to get an agreement which almost certainly guarantees a soft Brexit and even the possibility down the line of no Brexit at all.
The EU and Ireland's interests aligned perfectly on this occasion. The EU wasn't doing us any major favour, after all it threw us to the wolves during the financial meltdown.
