l Just as a point of interest, in response to Thomas Molloy's article 'Greeks and Germans must overcome years of mistrust' (June 18):
Berthold Graf von Stauffenberg (1905-1944) was a German aristocrat, lawyer and conspirator in the July 20 plot of 1944, along with his brother, Claus Graf von Stauffenberg.
In 1939, he joined the German navy, working as a staff judge and adviser on international law. Berthold von Stauffenberg was also concerned with food supplies to Greece. He negotiated passage through the zones of naval operations for grain shipments to Greece in 1943 and 1944.
