GAA 'media trial' is a blame game

The recent uproar by GAA managers over alleged "trial by media" is another example of how people in this country eschew responsibility for their own actions or the actions of those who are supposedly under their control.

Be it our political leaders blaming "outside" influences for our continuing financial problems, or individuals moaning about banking malpractice that has left them in debt, we seem to have become experts at finding scapegoats for problems that were of our own making.

If GAA managers practise what they preach -- discipline -- and ensure their players do their utmost to uphold it, then they should have no problem worrying about "trial by media".
