Fare play?

• Before Christmas, at a work party, I lost a personal bag of mine that included my keys, iPod, scarf, hat, etc. Unfortunately, my 2012 tax saver Dublin Bus ticket was in this bag as well.

When I enquired about cancelling my ticket, I was told that unless I produced the original ticket, I would still be charged by my employer as there was no way of cancelling a ticket once it is issued.

The problem I have (and I'm sure there are hundreds of people who are or will be in this situation) is that this is an electronic ticket that cannot be cancelled. I will be charged €100 a month for 10 months, as Dublin Bus would not accept my cancellation unless the original was produced.
