• Gary O'Toole's letter (Letters, June 30) was spot on. As a 66-year-old, I travelled in a camper van to Poland, and the fans -- who were usually one-third of my age -- were a joy. Humorous, witty, intelligent and a pleasure to be with. There were a few who seemed to live in a blank spot but the rest were a credit to this country.
I hope and believe that this closer contact between Ireland and Poland will help to remove many of the suspicions between Polish people living here and us.
They were wonderful hosts, we experienced great friendship from them, and they have a dynamic country with great facilities -- just a few more motorways needed! From the look of Polish farms, they should feed Europe and hopefully many Irish will return to Gdansk and Poznan: two great cities.
