Facing abuse

• I am puzzled by Mary Kenny's attempt to sanitise and cleanse the catch-all term 'child abuse' of its emotional content.

Apart from ameliorating her own personal discomfort, I don't see why it's an issue. It seems to me to be a crude attempt to censor, but why? What is to be gained by a "rational discussion" of the type she envisions?

Ms Kenny wants people to calm down and rationally discuss an irrational act.

She wants people to stop verbally abusing her as she works to grapple intellectually with the naming and categorisation of the various hues of the severity of the crimes. Ms Kenny wants too much. Deal with it. Take the flak. It goes with the territory. And if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen.
