Evrony ignoring harsh realities
The Israeli Ambassador, Dr Zion Evrony (Letters, April 27), is obviously engaging in the Israeli government's attempts to "re-brand itself" in the light of recent bad publicity surrounding the Goldstone Report, the diplomatic spat with the Obama administration, and the diplomatic spat with Ireland over the refusal of Israel to allow our Foreign Minister, Micheal Martin, access to the besieged Gaza Strip. Not to mention the small matter of Irish passports.
He does this with the spurious claim, often repeated by proponents of Zionism -- the "land with no people for a people with no land".
He conveniently omits the reality of the indigenous Palestinian population, the Jewish militias of the Stern Gang, Irgun and the Haganah.
