Evidence . . . Salaries . . . Jail . . . Misfire . . . Blame

Eddie Appleby (Letters, March 31) states "there is no historic evidence that the crucifixion ever happened".

Perhaps honest readers would like see the evidence, written by historians Tacitus (c.55AD -- 117AD) in 'The Annals', book XV, chapter 44, and by Josephus Flavius (c.38AD -- 100AD) in 'Jewish Antiquities', book 18, Chapter 3, paragraphs 1 -- 5; Paragraph 3(63).
