Europe's shame

• Last night, I was horrified when I watched a BBC 'Panorama' documentary about life in Greece today, where it was stated that children are fainting at school because their parents cannot afford to feed them, and people are sharing cancer drugs -- also because they cannot afford what they need to survive.

This programme was made in recent weeks and the real cutbacks demanded by Europe haven't even started.

As an Irishman and a so-called European, I am ashamed that my Government still believes in the rhetoric and spin that self-imposed bad governance is the root cause of all of Greece's woes.
