Don't bring back failed politicians
Resurrecting tried, tested, and failed politicians like Maire Geoghegan-Quinn will get us nowhere.
Ms Geoghegan-Quinn was notorious for transferring questions in the Dail that she was unable or refused to answer as justice minister. She was regularly criticised for failing to act on criminal matters when this country's organised crime culture was nascent.
She put on the style with the odd cupla focal to imply that her proficiency at the Irish language equated to intelligence, but it hardly went further than that.
