Deja vu

History is repeating itself in Europe in a most sinister way, only this time it's being done without the horror of war -- so far.

The first thing Germany did after the blitzkrieg in Czechoslovakia and the other countries it overran was to set up selected governments to replace the elected ministers.

Leap forward to today and the insistence by Germany that the same thing happens in Greece and Italy. Is there still a notion around the Dail that it couldn't happen here?

Why are our elected leaders so cowed? Will Europe never learn that Germany cares about no other nation but itself?

As was the case at the beginning of the last world war, it is now only Britain that stands alone in its opposition to German dictatorship. Kudos to the UK and to David Cameron.
