Criticism of Israel isn't anti-semitic

Daniel Briscoe's disingenuous criticism of those who have drawn attention to the irony in Israel sending medical aid to Haiti (Letters, February 1) is based on a false premise.

Firstly, Israel was not being criticised for sending doctors and aid to Haiti -- everyone is delighted to see Haitians getting whatever help is available.

Rather, Israel was being criticised for the irony in doing everything it can to frustrate the same kind of medical help getting to the victims of a man-made disaster -- namely its close neighbours in Gaza -- who are still reeling from Israel's murderous assault on them last year.
