Cost of living must drop to reflect reality

During a lifetime of trade-union activity, the most constant argument I encountered from the business community was that the cause of high prices was high wages.

Over the past few years, workers have had to endure mass redundancies, wage cuts and extra taxation and there has been an increase in exports in comparison to imports. Yet rather than see prices come down to meet the new conditions we have seen a steady rise in the cost of living.

Will ICTU stop the idiocy about partnership and start fighting back while we have strength and sanity?
