CIE might as well try something different
With plans to develop Connolly Station with numerous new tower blocks (Irish Independent, June 18) I'm unsure if this is the tail end of the Celtic Tiger boom that most have agreed fizzled out long ago or possibly the start of a forthcoming revival.
It's good to see the authority responsible for state transport try something else. I read this week in the UK's Railway Enthusiast magazine that passenger numbers are so low at the Docklands station the plan is to "mothball" it.
Dublin is choked morning and night with too many cars and solutions by CIE were few and painfully slow.
