Brass monkeys

•The RTE documentary 'Crisis: Inside The Cowen Government' contained almost nothing new and appeared to be an attempt by the regurgitated "whiter than white" Fianna Fail surviving clique to find one suitable scapegoat for Fianna Fail's reckless destruction of the Irish economy, while exonerating most of the other FF ministers from collegial cabinet responsibility.

Willie O'Dea, Micheal Martin and Mary Hanafin in particular performed an almost perfect "three brass monkeys" routine, each claiming that at 2.30 on the morning of September 30, 2008, they saw nothing, heard nothing, spoke nothing and were conned into agreeing to the atrocious bank guarantee scheme by the Terrible Brian Twins.

These were nauseating performances. By exposing these three monkeys wearing no clothes, the documentary did some service for those with eyes to see with, ears to hear with, and a brain to think with.
