Blaming property tycoons too easy

It was a shock to see how RTE placed some of Ireland's top businessmen at the centre of the economic crisis in 'Prime Time Investigates' of December 21. It's time that the past decade was reflected on from a different journalistic angle.

During the boom years we lived in Ireland and saw with our own eyes the extent to which the economy was overheating.

Ireland's economic development started off with economic incentives, which attracted a high volume of foreign business. As with other European countries, this led to an increased demand for housing.
