Be grateful pilots risked lives to save Irish in Libya

The privilege of voting and the privilege of travelling freely, are not options everyone can avail of.

White Europeans, including the Irish, are used to seeing the world as their oyster. As travellers, tourists and settlers, they can more or less go where they want, knowing that if the going gets tough there is always the safety of home to fall back upon.

People who choose to work in a country run by a repressive and murderous dictatorial regime do so in full knowledge of the facts, and should also have a clear idea of the risks involved.
