Bank secrets

• I am sure PAC chairman John McGuinness is a decent and honourable man who serves his country very well. However, he was a member of the governing party that gave us and supported the bank guarantee of September 2008 and he held junior ministerial office in that administration.

We have a right to know what took place that night, what advice was given and what issues were brought to bear.

It is essential, therefore, that any such inquiry be, like Caesar's wife, above suspicion, and as no one can be a judge in his own case, is Mr McGuinness the right person to chair any such hearing?
