• It is with complete disbelief that I read in Tuesday's newspaper (Irish Independent, November 20) that the Bank of Ireland is going to be charging their customers (victims I would say) when they do not have €3,000 in the current account all of the time, as you say "every minute of every day".
This is a disgrace in these times when people are pushed to the pin of their collar trying to have any money in their accounts in order to pay their bills.
Extra money these days is the privilege of a very small minority, most likely the bosses and retirees of this bank and others.
Naturally, the Government will not do anything about this as their line is "the banks must get back to profitability".
But what about the people, can we not have some semblance of a life?
