Yet another snide pot shot by David Quinn at 'militant' atheists (Comment, May 6) fails to see the glaring contrast between an atheist and believer facing their personal deaths.
John Paul II faced death, but did so convinced of his god's existence and in everlasting life in a celestial paradise. It takes little courage to face death under such an illusion.
Christopher Hitchens faces death under no such illusions, under the spell of no mythology.
