Another blueprint for jobs stagnation
HAVING read Peter Flanagan's report on the 'Ireland First' group's Blueprint for Recovery (Irish Independent, March 16), I sought out a copy and read it in great anticipation.
Alas, it didn't take long to realise that it was no more than a wish list identical to policies pursued by the outgoing Government, which led us into disaster.
While there are firm proposals to cut thousands of jobs, when it comes to creating them, we have aspiration and guesstimates. And 'welfare fraud' will be rigorously tackled, but not a word about blue and white collar crime. Indeed, regulation is portrayed as a negative.
