'An Tost Fada' was stimulating
Madam -- I was away when the programme An Tost Fada, was broadcast but, caught up with it on the web. May I congratulate the Canon and Eoghan Harris for making a thought-provoking programme. I was 'away' in the National Archives in Kew, studying and photographing (in partnership with my wife) all 3,632 claims in CO 762, The Irish Claims Commission (an enlightening document!). I had spent a week in November last and in January studying the 800-plus Cork claims, so I believe I may write with more knowledge than most. Currently, I am indexing our 9,500-plus photographs to their relevant Kew file numbers.
I have a sort-of personal interest in this problem as I had two Protestant great-great-grandmothers, Abby Haynes and Hannah Bradfield, and I find both of these families suffered -- the Bradfields more than most.
Beir buadh, George agus Eoghan.
