Air for sale

• I knew the day would arrive and I was right. On Monday, I pulled into an Esso filling station, purchased €70 of expensive petrol and then proceeded to inflate a tyre which was suffering with a slow puncture.

I attached the nozzle to my tyre as usual and pushed the button on the compressor, but nothing happened. It was then I saw the sign: "Please insert €1 for five mins of air".

In my opinion this is an outrage. Motorists are paying through the teeth to keep their cars on the road and now they want us to pay for air too!
