Adams, apologise to West Belfast
Madam – Watching scenes depicting the IRA's recruitment procedures in West Belfast on The Disappeared (RTE, Monday, November 4), it was very easy to see how large sections of Belfast's nationalist population had little choice but to submit to terrorist demands in their local communities.
There is also little doubt that the current Sinn Fein President, Gerry Adams, played a large part in matters related to IRA discipline. His prominence and the respect in which he was held in IRA circles belie his regular denials of membership of an organisation of which he was always chief spokesperson.
Is this the same Gerry Adams who has the gall to stand up in Dail Eireann and pontificate about equality for all, including the downtrodden?
