A different law for some TDs
Madam -- Surely it cannot be right, that once a law is passed by the Dail, members of that Dail, for example, Clare Daly, and Joe Higgins, can go around the country strongly urging and encouraging taxpayers to break the law by refusing to pay the household charge. Then, at the same time they see nothing wrong or contradictory to expect the same taxpayers to pay for their expenses while they are doing this.
If a few of our gardai toured the country urging or encouraging people to break the law by not taxing or insuring their cars, not paying the TV licence or income tax, and at the same time claiming expenses while doing this, I expect they would be out of their jobs within a week.
Is it then one law for our gardai and a different law for our TDs?
